Working My New Lifestyle Into My Existing Life
I’m a few months into naturism and it has already begun to show its benefits and headaches. Needless to say that the last few weeks have been intense for everyone with holidays and what not; but I have been finding my peace with nature. Lying out in the sun with morning dew on the ground seems to be my highest point of center (so far). I feel recharged, refreshed, and renewed for the day. I am currently learning to live “at peace with nature.”
For those that don’t know, to live at peace with nature is basically to live in such a way that I am of no permanent harm to the earth, and the earth is of no permanent harm to me. There is a great read I found on PositivePsychology.com (I’ll add the link at the bottom) which mentions a quote from Frank Lloyd Wright:
“Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you.”
This particular quote stuck with me because at the time I first started being curious about Naturism, it sounded great. “Yeah, be close to nature! That makes sense!” but then like most things in life, there was a lot of work involved with a lifestyle change of this magnitude. The way I ate, the way I commuted and the way I worked were all a far cry from being at peace with mother earth. This was my first real challenge. I can be as naked as I want, as often as I want, but it’s meaningless if I’m not seeking and maintaining that peace with nature. Therein lies the next part of my journey.
